A technological revolution in the field of education – Use the JTouch INF6500EAG Touchscreen Monitor in school and university

Technology is subject to constant change. Ten years ago, the desktop PC celebrated its entry into the classroom and today the focus is on cloud services and mobile learning applications at school and at university.

We take a look at the technological revolution in the education sector and, with the touch screen monitor JTouch INF6500EAG, we present a modern tool for teaching.

touch screen monitor

Public study fuels the use of touch screen monitor and Co.

In a general survey in education centers on the topic of education technology, 29% of teachers estimated that the desktop PC will not remain a technology used in the education sector for the next ten years. The teachers gave equally few survival chances to non-interactive projectors, traditional projection software and CDs and DVDs as well as their playback devices.

If the teachers were able to decide which technology was no longer to be found in the study room or classroom, the majority would choose learning management systems, mobile devices and social media. Obviously these technical innovations have a counterproductive effect on the mediation of learning contents, as they might be distracting.

The respondents expressed the general incompatibility between applications, hardware and data needed as the biggest obstacle to the future integration of new technologies into the learning environment. They therefore suggest minimizing restrictions – such as in wireless usage or storage space – and cabling.

However, 97% of respondents are convinced that technology will play a positive role in education in the future. In the opinion of the interviewees, 3D applications, interactive touch projectors and programs, cloud services and the streaming of learning content will be particularly significant.

Reasons for the technological revolution in the education sector

Schools and universities should rethink when it comes to the use of technology for education. Teachers may combine modern applications and devices – such as the touch screen monitorwith traditional learning methods.

Just as the content of the teaching changes with time, the technologies for knowledge transfer should also be oriented towards modern development. This is because technical novelties are often a relief for everyday learning, they encourage learners to actively participate and are therefore positively integrated by them.

The touchscreen monitor JTouch INF6500EAG for seminar rooms and classrooms

The JTouch INF6500EAG touch-screen monitor has a 65-inch display, so that contents may be displayed in a comfortable size. Thanks to the non-reflective surface, a clear image is obtained, even in very bright light conditions. The bright and colorful presentation, even in large bright conference rooms, will impress pupils and students.

The slim, frameless design and the effortless control will also convince users. The HDMI and USB ports are located on the front of this touch screen monitor, making them easily accessible. The touchscreen monitor can be connected to a PC, Mac or Chromebook by means of these ports as well as via VGA or Component Video.

Content will be displayed in high resolution on the monitor. Users may add an interactive whiteboard to the JTouch INF6500EAG and run Android apps via the optional Android-based whiteboard module. This facilitates an easy, profitable communication for pupils and students, which, not least, strengthens cooperation.

The touch function of the LCD screen invites to collaborate and spring into action. The capacitive touch function may be controlled intuitively. Thereby pupils, teachers and students equally present sharp, bright and also interactive content – namely not depending on the light conditions.

The InFocus IN5148HD projector – a large-scale projector with boundless adaptability

Ultra portable, installation, short-distance, ECO blanking, wireless, full HD, network capability – the list of special features of projectors is long.

Whether presentations in the classroom or in the university, conferences in the office or the classic screening of a football match is concerned: Nowadays, you can buy the suitable projector for any occasion from InFocus.

HD projectors

Presenting the InFocus IN5148HD we introduce a popular large-scale projector with its functional highlights.

  • What makes this HD projector so suitable for large rooms and event halls?
  • How does the IN5148HD generate its clear images?
  • Why precisely this HD projector is extremely user-friendly?

What makes the IN5148HD suitable for large rooms?

Thanks to incredible 5000 lumens, the IN5148HD projector delivers clear and sharp images that can also be projected beyond the picture diagonal of 100“, even in bright room light conditions.

The native 1080p resolution allows optimal reproduction of various HD content. This full-HD projector can be installed easily and supports – if desired – the wireless display of digital images or videos thanks to optional LightCast Key.

Connections for HDMI, RJ45 and VGA as well as RS232 and screen trigger function allow the unlimited use of the projector for presentations. Due to the HDBaseT certification, video, sound and control signals can be transmitted to the projector via a CAT-5 network cable. For large-scale installations, this offers the clear advantage that you only have to install cost-effective network cables and can dispense with expensive video or audio cables.

The particularly great projection ratio and the motor lens shift function are regarded as convincing extras for this HD projector. While the former allows excellent flexibility in the choice of site, the latter ensures the perfect image positioning.

HD projectors

The HD projector with motorized lens shift function

The InFocus IN5148HD projector features the motorized lens shift function, which allows distortion-free movement of an object onto the screenwithout having to move the HD projector. Forget about annoyingly shunting the projector back and forth in order to finally find the perfect position for your device. The large lens shift gives the user of the IN5148HD projector a greater flexibility when setting up the projector.

Select a fixed position for the device and simply adjust each new image at the touch of a button. This is possible because the motorized lens shift function controls the horizontal and vertical image displacement motorized. For optimum image positioning, an image on the IN5148HD projector can be moved horizontally by 35% to the right and 35% to the left. The vertical lens shift is between outstanding 130% down and 35% up.

Thereby, this HD projector adapts optimally to every projection room.

HD projector

Flexible throw ratio and zoom ratio as features of the IN5148HD projector

The InFocus IN5148HD projector can also convince with a large projection ratio range of 3.02 ~ 1.49. This specifies the ratio of the projection distance and the image width. Since the IN5148HD projector has a zoom lens with a 2:1 zoom ratio, the projection ratio may be changed within the specified range.

The large projection ratio not only offers greater flexibility in the choice of the installation site for the projector, but also ensures the perfect positioning of projection content. And the best: the optimal image and projector placement can be done without changing the objective. A high-resolution image may be displayed exactly in the size you need at a presentation location.

Thus, 90% of all projector installations are covered thanks to the flexibility of the IN5148HD.

With this projector, there are no more technical challenges for presentations, but motorized moving, focusing and zooming.

A perfect presentation is guaranteed!

Video call, telephony and face-to face: The inconvenient truth about meetings

Meetings, i.e. discussions at a fixed date, have fallen into disrepute in many companies. Very few employees consider their regular meetings as really useful and as profitable for their work.

How much damage do meetings really cause? Why are meetings that unproductive? And how is it possible to organize better meetings? We show you the benefits of a video call in meetings…

video call

Damages caused by a meeting without a video conferencing system

Actually, such a meeting is a very useful matter where to share information, develop solutions and bring projects to a successful conclusion.

In reality, however, very few meetings are really effective, on the contrary: They cause costs and waste time. A US study showed that meetings generate opportunity costs amounting to 37 billion US dollars annually.

In more than 25 million meetings every day, employees in the US waste their time. If meetings will not be made more efficient in the future, for example by the use of a video conferencing system, those figures will continue to rise.

Already now, the numbers are alarming: The middle management spends 35 percent of the working time in meetings nowadays, the upper management spends as much as 50 percent of total working time in meetings. The most important thing is that executive staff indicates 67 percent of the meetings as failures.

Ineffective meetings without video call – a root cause analysis

The study shows clearly why meetings without video call rarely lead to success: A total of 92 per cent of the participants in addition deal with other things during a meeting. As a result, however, the duration of a meeting is delayed, the concentration capacity of the individual employees decreases, and thus also the density of the information exchange.

The experts classify the lack of involvement of remote employees as another reason for ineffective meetings. For participants of a meeting that are not connected via video conferencing system but via the telephone it is difficult to follow the course.

Since 80 percent of the messages that a person sends are coming from his body language, this important variable is missing in the communication. In addition, meetings often fail due to inadequate planning. Poor preparation and a poor build-up of the meeting reduce its chances of success.

Helpful tips for a successful meeting

We have compiled some helpful tips for you in order to make the next meeting in the company a great success:
1. Plan the meeting to be as compact as possible, never let it last longer than 30 minutes.
2. Process a specific agenda and include it in the presentation material. You will meet real expectations.
3. Obtaining required materials in advance will save time for profitable discussions.
4. Start and close the meeting on time and show this way that you respect the schedule of each individual.
5. Avoid monologues. Include all participants in the meeting.
6. Stay focused and do not allow yourself to be distracted by other things like emails or social networks.
If you want to successfully manage a meeting, whether with or without a video conferencing system, you should always ask: Is this meeting really necessary? Which employees actually have to participate? And: What can I do to make sure my meeting passes by interactively and focusingly?

video conferencing

video conferencing

Our tip:

A video call can raise a meeting to a new level. It is that participants of a meeting with a video conferencing system can concentrate on the discussions demonstrably better in the meeting and are distracted 57% less by other things.

Video calls improve the commitment of the participants, which supports decision-making and increases the productivity of the team.

For unlimited connections, InFocus introduces network solutions, so that the annoying cable clutter is eliminated. Henceforth the projector may be connected wirelessly to a PC. In addition, technically sophisticated touch screens are available and make a presentation more exciting as for example the Mondopad series.
