The InFocus IN5148HD projector – a large-scale projector with boundless adaptability

Ultra portable, installation, short-distance, ECO blanking, wireless, full HD, network capability – the list of special features of projectors is long.

Whether presentations in the classroom or in the university, conferences in the office or the classic screening of a football match is concerned: Nowadays, you can buy the suitable projector for any occasion from InFocus.

HD projectors

Presenting the InFocus IN5148HD we introduce a popular large-scale projector with its functional highlights.

  • What makes this HD projector so suitable for large rooms and event halls?
  • How does the IN5148HD generate its clear images?
  • Why precisely this HD projector is extremely user-friendly?

What makes the IN5148HD suitable for large rooms?

Thanks to incredible 5000 lumens, the IN5148HD projector delivers clear and sharp images that can also be projected beyond the picture diagonal of 100“, even in bright room light conditions.

The native 1080p resolution allows optimal reproduction of various HD content. This full-HD projector can be installed easily and supports – if desired – the wireless display of digital images or videos thanks to optional LightCast Key.

Connections for HDMI, RJ45 and VGA as well as RS232 and screen trigger function allow the unlimited use of the projector for presentations. Due to the HDBaseT certification, video, sound and control signals can be transmitted to the projector via a CAT-5 network cable. For large-scale installations, this offers the clear advantage that you only have to install cost-effective network cables and can dispense with expensive video or audio cables.

The particularly great projection ratio and the motor lens shift function are regarded as convincing extras for this HD projector. While the former allows excellent flexibility in the choice of site, the latter ensures the perfect image positioning.

HD projectors

The HD projector with motorized lens shift function

The InFocus IN5148HD projector features the motorized lens shift function, which allows distortion-free movement of an object onto the screenwithout having to move the HD projector. Forget about annoyingly shunting the projector back and forth in order to finally find the perfect position for your device. The large lens shift gives the user of the IN5148HD projector a greater flexibility when setting up the projector.

Select a fixed position for the device and simply adjust each new image at the touch of a button. This is possible because the motorized lens shift function controls the horizontal and vertical image displacement motorized. For optimum image positioning, an image on the IN5148HD projector can be moved horizontally by 35% to the right and 35% to the left. The vertical lens shift is between outstanding 130% down and 35% up.

Thereby, this HD projector adapts optimally to every projection room.

HD projector

Flexible throw ratio and zoom ratio as features of the IN5148HD projector

The InFocus IN5148HD projector can also convince with a large projection ratio range of 3.02 ~ 1.49. This specifies the ratio of the projection distance and the image width. Since the IN5148HD projector has a zoom lens with a 2:1 zoom ratio, the projection ratio may be changed within the specified range.

The large projection ratio not only offers greater flexibility in the choice of the installation site for the projector, but also ensures the perfect positioning of projection content. And the best: the optimal image and projector placement can be done without changing the objective. A high-resolution image may be displayed exactly in the size you need at a presentation location.

Thus, 90% of all projector installations are covered thanks to the flexibility of the IN5148HD.

With this projector, there are no more technical challenges for presentations, but motorized moving, focusing and zooming.

A perfect presentation is guaranteed!

Enjoy the European Football Championship with an InFocus HD projector

HD video projector

InFocus HD video projector

Public Viewing will enter the head of every soccer fan when thinking of the European Soccer Championship that will take place in France during summer: The public life transmission on large video screens may be enjoyed accompanied by beer and bratwurst together with other football enthusiasts. Anyone who does not want to experience a lull in his gastronomic business in the coming months should be equipped with an InFocus HD video projector

The matching HD projector for the European Championship – advices for buying

On June 10, 2016 the next great soccer event will start at the Stade de France in St-Denis: France, host of the European Championship, will open the soccer tournament, where for the first time 24 instead of 16 teams, as it was the case before, will compete for the coveted Championship Trophy. With an HD projector it is not only possible to watch the opening ceremony, where among others David Guetta is expected to perform. All games transmitted by the broadcasters ARD and ZDF may be viewed in best quality with a projector.
During the HDTV live transmissions the 720p50 format will be used, i.e. a resolution with 1280×720 lines. Yet with projectors in the middle price segment, which lie mostly below the Full HD resolution, football matches are shown in original quality of transmitted HD. Full HD projectors with a resolution of 1080p (1920×1080 lines) even can display for example Blu-ray discs without any quality loss after the European Championship.
The number of lumens should be slightly higher when using an HD projector for public viewing. While about 3200 lumens promise a clear picture in shady places, up to 5000 lumens are required in broad daylight or during changeable weather conditions. Under these circumstances, a bright and clear image transfer with HD projectors is guaranteed.

Affordable HD projectors by InFocus

The experts of InFocus have a wide range of different projectors at their disposal. For an unforgettable European Championship with low projector costs they recommend the IN116x. In order to enjoy full HD resolution even after the European Championship, there is no alternative to the model SP1080. Both products come with 3000 lumens and good to brilliant resolution, in order to persevere spellbound in front of the screen until the final of the European Championship on July 10.

LED projectors in comparison with LCD and DLP technology

The product range relating to projectors is becoming increasingly diverse. Gradually, more effective technologies dominate the market, as beside DLP and LCD projectors now LED projectors are highly popular. We will show you what the differences are and what effects the techniques have on a presentation…

infocus LED projectors

InFocus LED projectors

LCD technology

In LCD Technology, already known from flat panel displays, a transparent film of liquid is used in order to display contents. Due to the transparency of the liquid, a light beam can be easily projected onto a wall. For directly above and below the liquid crystal layer there are conductor tracks of transparent material that cross another matrix-like and thus shape a frame grid. The junctions form the light and dark points of light that make up an image. As with a LED projector, devices with LCD technology provide very high quality images clearly legible. LCD devices are small, easy to transport and acquirable at a good price-performance ratio. The disadvantages: Due to the inertia of LCD the images re-drag; the lamps have a relatively short lifetime of about 2,000 hours and are very expensive.

DLP technology

As part of the DLP technology a large number of small, movable mirrors transmit a specific content onto a wall. The imaging takes places by the selective control of the tilting mirrors, whereby the light is guided in the direction of the projection optics. Unlike the LED projector, In DLP technology there are only the states “on” and “off”, so brightness levels are produced by rapid pulsation. The advantages of DLP technology lie in the fast responsiveness of DMP chips, therefore DLP devices are well suited especially for moving pictures. Even nuanced shades of gray can be displayed with a DLP device. lso, no screen burning or re-dragging of the images has to be feared with DLP devices. With respect to these devices, sometimes the loudness of the fan and the color wheel is found to be disadvantageous when operating DLP appliances.

LED projectors

With an LED projector contents can be projected onto a wall using LEDs as light source. A DLP element is imaging in LED projectors, too. However, an LED projector provides several advantages: Besides the low power consumption and the long service life of up to 20,000 hours, the possible battery operation is persuasive. In addition, LEDs generate no heat, so elaborate fans are missing as well as any resultant dust formation or disturbing background noises. An LED projector is compact and lightweight and therefore can be transported easily. The lack of light intensity of LED projectors can be regarded as disadvantageous. A room has to be completely darkened to obtain clear images. In addition, an LED projector is relatively cost intensive in purchase.
